Building Update
July 16, 2008
We are moving along very quickly now! The land for Phase I has been cleared. Sometime in the future, when we are ready to build a larger sanctuary or additional classrooms, we will clear more land. The slab (floor) should go down this week with the walls going up in the next few weeks. The contractor sent us the first draw request, representing 10% completion of the building and land work. These are exciting times!
Please pray for good weather over the coming summer months so that we continue to make good progress.

July 1st Update
By 6/27 the concrete foundation for the exterior walls and center steel support posts had been poured. We received the second building permit for the interior of the building, so the most difficult paperwork hurdles have now been cleared. The week of July 5th the plumbers and electricians will be laying the underground portions of our utilities. Once the utilities are installed the concrete slab that will be the floor of our church will be poured.

The building project is really picking up speed. Although you cannot see any changes on the property itself, some very significant milestones have been reached these past few weeks. Both Osceola and Polk County are on board with us. They have been corresponding with each other by e-mail, reaching agreements on several key points. We have scheduled a pre-construction meeting with Osceola County on Monday. At this meeting, we expect to get the go-ahead to begin building!
Please pray for the committee, our builder, Scott and all the government officials involved as we wrap up this phase of the process and begin the next!

Update 4/18/08
Community of Faith,
Over the past few weeks, we have continued to work on the logistics of using Polk County water for our church's fire suppression system. Since Osceola County does not provide water to our remote location, Polk is working out the details to provide it to us instead. Polk County's Growth Management Department and their Utilities Division are currently reviewing the plans. We are on their agenda for April 24th - we hope to wrap up this part of the project on the 24th or very soon thereafter.
We are also working on the location of the transformer with Progress Energy and completing calculations for the septic system for Osceola County. We had submitted calculations, but were instructed to change them to reflect the pre-k program. This information will resubmitted this week and should complete (with the exception of the fire suppression piece) our package to the Osceola County Permitting Office. We have already received and responded to all other outstanding issues.
In summary, the good news is that these are the only remaining pieces before issuance of a building permit!
Respectfully submitted,
